    2009 Sea Dogs

    (best logo ever >_>)
A little bit late, but here's the overview of my team.

    Lineup:
    C Nick Hundley (25 years old, 7-7-8-7-7)
    1B Casey Kotchman (27 years old, 9-9-10-9-8)
    2B Jason Kubel (26 years old, 8-9-8-6-7)
    3B Andy Marte (25 years old, 9-8-10-7-5)
SS Kevin Elster (24 years old, 8-8-6-8-9)
LF Ryan Sweeney (24 years old, 10-8-8-8-6)
CF Alexis Rios (28 years old, 8-8-7-5-6)
RF Austin Kearns (28 years old, 8-7-10-8-7)
DH Braulio Hernandez (23 years old, 10-7-10-10-7)

    AVG Age: 25.55
    AVG Contact: 8.55
    AVG Gap Power: 7.88
    AVG Power: 8.55
    AVG Discipline: 7.55
    AVG Avoid K's: 7.66

Thoughts: I really tried to assemble my best lineup yet. I had to sacrifice my ace to do so in Peavy to acquire Marte, which made payroll constraints a bit easier so I could then add Kearns via FA. Obviously it has some weak spots defensively (although Kubel hasn't been half bad at 2B), but hopefully with Santos and Ventura (if I can get him to play another position better than he plays 3B) I can upgrade next season at D.

    Rotation:
SP Jason Davis (28 years old, 10-9-9)
SP Justin Verlander (26 years old, 9-10-10)
SP Aaron "Sly" Fox (23 years old, 9-8-8)
SP Nick Webber (24 years old, 9-5-10)

    AVG age: 25.25
    AVG stuff: 9.25
    AVG control: 8
    AVG movement: 9.25

Obviously a new look rotation. Gone is Peavy, Zambrano, and Bedard. All of whom have essentially been in my rotation from the start of this sim. I am still confident in this rotation even if we do go through some growing pains and I am hoping that Verlander will finally emerge as the staff ace.

    Bullpen:
Tyler Johnson (27 years old, 8-7-7)
Sam Smith (30 years old, 7-8-8)
Kevin Cave (28 years old, 5-9-10)
Brian Pikington (26 years old, 7-9-7)
Felipe Paulino del Guidice (25 years old 10-6-9)
Roger McDowell (26 years old, 10-8-10)

    AVG age: 27
    AVG stuff: 7.83
    AVG control: 7.83
    Avg movement: 8.5

A bit more shady than other parts of the team, but I expect Guidice and McDowell will make an effective one two punch for the 8th and the 9th.

I really don't know what to expect from this team, but if the pitching comes through, I am hoping I will be able to stay in the race with Puerto Rico and any other AL East team.
