Just for my reference....everything before this post has been tallied, and will count towards the draft. Posts after this point will be counted towards the next draft. I'm going to do my best to get the participation point thread and draft order up tonight.

I am severely disappointed in the way this season is going offensively. I am now on a 5 game losing streak, went 4-6 in the last sim, and am now only 2 games over .500. A-Rod is still doing horrible but finally hit a homerun for the first sime since early April. Big Mac continues to be a beast hitting 6 more homeruns this sim and is not on pace for 81 this year. He is already only 12 behind the career high of 38 he hit in 2007.

I'm having the same problem. I'm not loaded with offensive talent, but everyone is underperforming.

Really it's just A-Rod and Lee that are irritating me. If you look at their past performance, and their ratings, there is no way they should be doing this horrible. I would put them on the block for their horribleness but they would probably start tearing it up once I traded them.

I added a new reward for participation points in the points thread. Since that thread is locked, I'd like to hear any feedback in this thread...thanks

that doesn't really seem fair...I know it's another way to drive up participation, but it takes part of the natural course of the game out of play, no?

Not real wild about the cyber surgery

at least with the creating of a historic player or whatever, they would be a minor league spect for the most part and there is still risk in progression...... I don't like coming back at pre-injury levels for a season or career ending injury, especially for less points than creation of a historical player.... IMHO this cyber surgery is even more helpful and if chosen to be allowed should actually cost more points, not less

And a natural course of the game would be reviving dead players like Joe DiMaggio, Cy Young or Ty Cobb?
Sure the new Cyber Surgery takes "a" natural course of the game out of play, but it is essentially the same as re-creating a player. It's not like it is something that every team will be able to do with every player that has a career ender. Some teams may stash their points away in case it does happen to a superstar, but then they wouldn't be using those points to create a player or to import a "classic" player.
I think it is a nice addition.

I'm curious, has anybody actually paid points to have a historical player imported yet? If so, who was the player?

I mean the natural course of play...adding historical players isn't the same to me as they often seem to be of the same talent levels as the other fictional players (at least in the draft)...it's just a name given to the player. They still have to develop. If they were brought in at their talent levels, then yes, that wouldn't be fair. Reviving an injured player doesn't seem fair to me because they'll be right back where they were...just like Dave said.

The players added to the draft is different than the historical players. All of the historical players added through the draft are young (under 25). The original concept of adding historical players is that the team creating the player must submit the name of the player and the year they want the player to be imported from. I will then import that player and that year from the OOTP Lehman database unedited. This way, a GM could choose to import a 30 year old player (or any age for that matter), and that player would not need to develop through the minors.
