You either have to use a random lottery generator program, or get a lot of ping pong balls.... and in that case, it is the guy with the 11th pick who is utterly screwed..... he can not do anything but go down.... all the possible penalty with zero benefit (I know someone will say what benefit does the #1 guy have then if no lottery protection... but the benefit is the #1 overall with utter choice... 11 would not have complete choice)

    Why not as simple as

    1) 1200
    2) 1160
    3) 1120
    4) 1080
    ...
    28) 120
    29) 80
    30) 40

The likelyhood of the 30th moving up to the middle is still astronomical... this is 40 QUALITY posts between every draft place... THAT is a LOT of posts... but a lot of posts and a few good atricles and you could move up 5 places in a good case scenario..... and everyone gets the same equal protection... valuing everyone's position

Why should anyone's position be valued more than anyone else's? Equal protection for all.....

The key is how much protection as the buffer?? 30 posts? 40 posts? 100 posts? 10 posts?

Why should the winning teams have a better chance to move up than the teams that are struggling.

but the key is it is as hard to move up/down no matter WHERE you are...... your pick is as valuable to you as mine is to me, as the worst team's is to the worst team....

You think it would be easy for the best team to collect 200 posts more than the next 4 teams ahead of him/her to be able to move up 5 spaces??

Having it harder for any group should not be a goal... whether it be for the best or the worst teams..... equal possibility of benefit or penalty

Why make a top team even better?? I would say the top 5 teams can not be in the top 10 pick wise..

The Draft Position is still more valuable maybe if it was reversed id consider it.

interesting Ideas...a top ten worst team shouldn't fall out of the top ten IMO, they will never get better

Really, we should try crazys system. I have trust in him. Personally, I'm all for a lottery system or keeping the system we have now.

This league was founded so it could be different. If crazy wants to change things up, then he can go ahead.

I'm going to post a new system tomorrow morning. Fishercat made a model, and I like where he's coming. There are some things that I want to adjust, but I'll post it when I am finished, and we will go from there. I don't like the lottery idea mixed in with the points system much. With the points system it gives each GM an idea of what they need to do to improve their pick. With the lottery system, a team could lose the 1st pick and end up with the 10th pick from no fault of their own. I like the idea of the points system as long as it gives motivation for GMs to particpate more and make the league more enjoyable than it already is. We have a great group of GMs here so I think we can make a system like this work.
