I wish the news would focus more on this, than going up cold heartedly "How do you feel? What are you going to do now?" It makes me sick watching the national news as they continue stuff like that. Giambi didnt have to do anything for him, but he did it because hes a human being, 17 people are a lot of people to try and find housing for, and i am sure he gave to the American Red Cross type groups. More time should be devouted to the people who are reaching out to help than the a**hole scum of the earth that are bullying and firing at contractors trying to help and the looters (not going for neccessities).

How loyal can he be? Giambi did a good deed and he should be proud of himself. I wish players like Giambi could contribute to different organizations to help in the relief efforts in Louisiana and Alabama. Perhaps those teams that won't be in the playoffs can take time to clean up or talk some baseball to those who lost everything.

1st Topic.....Huston Street has been automatic lately posting the 1.22 ERA this season while Mariano Rivera has a 1.47 ERA for the Yanks. If you were to take one closer to THIS SEASON, do not bring in history. Who would you take?

I guess I'd have to pick Mo 'cause Street is a rookie...he also has as many blown saves (4) as Mo, but with less attempts (22 vs. 39). Street does have the edge in other categories, but he's still a rookie and as good as he's been I don't think I'd want a rookie closing if I had a choice...the A's didn't have a choice as Dotel got injured for the year.

Huston Street was drafted for the exact role he is in now, but unlike the Yanks when they called up Mariano Rivera the A's didnt have another guy to ease him into it. And he has done magnificient. But I have to go with Mariano because since his first series against Boston he has exactly 2 blown saves and has a 5-2 record and has absolutely demolished everyone since then, he had a perfect June giving up 0 ER in 10 gms.
