The joke was, the gum is so old your mouth will disintegrate when it comes in contact with the gum. Thanks for playing.
I have a couple boxes full of them. Haven't bought or looked through them in over a decade.

that and I never learned how to read.
I think the problem is you don't know how to read, not that it's a bad joke lol

Haven't bought any cards in probably 10-12 years (or at least it seems that long). I have thousands of football, basketball and comics cards. Not nearly as many baseball. The card companies way over-saturated the market with shit cards and ridiculous insert ratios. I finally gave up because it got to be way too expensive to even attempt to keep up with it and they took the fun out of inserts by having so many inserts yet still keeping the ratios at ridiculously low levels.
To answer your original question, no I no longer collect; but, I do have a collection (if that makes sense).
I collect football cards only.

I don't care about the number of inserts because I'm mainly buying the cards for the cards, not what may or may not be added in as a bonus.
I quit buying them regularly when they started reducing the number of cards per pack while drastically increasing the price.
I remember when I could get a pack of 13-16 cards for 50 cents, now you have to pay 3-5 dollars for a pack of 4 to 6 cards.
I mean, I realize prices go up over time but that drastically? 13 cards at 50 cents is about 3.84 cents per card. 6 cards at 3 bucks is about 50 cents per card (so one card for what used to get me 13)
That's a 1,302 percent markup over the years based on my memory of the prices/amounts. (And I used the low number amount for the old price and the lower price for today's numbers since I wasn't sure if I was remembering exact numbers.)
I still buy old cards if I see them at yard sales and other places like that. But I haven't bought a contemporary pack of cards in years.

My friend got me started again through the site that opens packs, boxes, etc. it's just super addictive for me. And my wallet
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!

At the same time, the current value on my Te'o cards and Anthony Davis rookie auto patch have made it quite worth it.

Is the AD an auto or just a jersey patch?
Around Christmas time, I always look at prices for cases of stuff to send in to get graded. Haven't pulled the trigger yet, though.
