Id take Rivera every day and twice on sunday. Schilling isnt healthy enough to take this role and Timlin should have it until FOULKE is back. Schilling wasn't pushing off his leg and it led to inconsistent command of his pitches. He isnt 100% and should be in that type of role. When healthy id take the sandman.

The answer is CLEARLY Rivera. It's not even close. Using the number of career saves is good, and clearly Rivera is good at saving, but that is really a stat. that doesn't say much. What really tells the story on Rivera as a pitcher is that his career batting average against is .213, his career WHIP is1.06 and his career ERA is 2.98. The guy is a bulldog and Schilling is hurt right now. He's also not used to the role and probably never would be overly comfortable in the role.

Next topic: Larry Brown is the head coach of the Detroit Pistons..still. Herb Williams is the head coach of the Pistons...still. Stan Van Gundy and Pat Riley are the head coach of the Miami Heat...looks like Van Gundy is gonna go. Larry, Stan, Herb: who coaches the Knicks next season? Around the Horn to Guybrush.

Van Gundy. Larry Brown has expressed no intent of retiring, but I think he will stay with Detroit. I doubt Herb Williams will go to New York. Van Gundy is the most logical choice. He has been great with the Heat, improving them drastically over the past few years. If Riley returns to Miami, Id think Stan has a nice warm seat waiting for him in New York. The Knicks are a perfect situation for him.

Yeah, I'm going to have to go with Van Gundy as well. Williams really has no reason to go to NY. Riley was liked by the Heat when he was there the last time, and Brown is coming off a Championship and a near-Championship in Detroit. Plus, why would he want to get anywhere NEAR Philly again, where he would be so close to the booing 76ers fans?

Why would any of these 3 want to coach the knicks when you got Isisah Thomas wanting to coach at any given minute. I think Herb Williams will be the puppet of Thomas for these reasons. Brown's Health barely gets him thru a season of Detroit. What makes you think that hes going to last with the NY Media for a whole season. Why would Stan Van Gundy leave one situation where an Ex-Coach thats above him takes his spot to another where the very same thing can happen. I think Stan stays in Miami, Brown stays in Detroit and Herb Williams lasts 2 months before Isiah is on board to realize that Jerome James is a bust.

Give the job to Van Gundy. He spent eight seasons in the college ranks and I believe he would know who would be the right people to draft because his experience helps than a coach who has never coached in college. If he wants to coach in New York, the spotlight will be on him and ONLY him because the rest of the New York teams are successful except for the Knicks. Isiah Thomas should hire him for the future and not for a short-term deal.

At the end of the first round, here is how we stand:

Porter has a measley 6 points.

    Cincy is dominating with 12

Husker with a mediocre 8 points.

Guybrush also with 8. Buy or Sell is next.

Ty Law is apparently at "85%" and is working out for the Jags, Jets, Chiefs and Colts. He has supposedly declined a 6-million dollar offer already, from whom, we don't know. So..buy or sell Ty Law making an impact with his new team next season? Around the Horn to Porter.

Buy. I think the Colts will sign him and take the if you cant beat him, join him approach. We all know the Colts have the best offense in the league when it clicks, granted that James comes back with a new contract. But how many times have we seen teams just move the ball at will vs this hapless defense. Dungy is supposed to be known as a defensive coach. But his best defense is scoring TDs right now. Law would help the young defensive backs improve their game and be a leader that is desperately needed on that defense.
