Today was the first of two MotoGP stops here in the US, today at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, and in August at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

What a race. Spies had a great start, almost getting into 2nd in T2, fighting with Stoner. He eventually got passed by Rossi, Dovi, and Hayden pushing him to 7th, but when Pedrobot crashed when he was leading the race, that put Spies back up a spot. He caught up to Rossi (4th) but couldn't get around him, then pushed wide in T11, letting Hayden get by him. The Americans finished 5-6-7, Hayden, Spies, and Edwards. Quite a respectable showing, especially for Edwards.

Jorge wins, Stoner 2nd, Rossi 3rd, Dovi 4th, Hayden 5th, Spies 6th, Edwards 7th.

Well done American troops. Let's get them at Indy.
