Just a little report on racing real quick. I have never been to a race whatsoever, but last night my borther and I were hanging out in my front yard and we could hear a race in the distance. It was clear that there was a track pretty close. Then we thought; Bristol? No way we could hear that from my front yard.
So I pulled out my Tom Tom and looked for race tracks nearby, and as Foster pointed out weeks ago; Kingsport Speedway is close. 1.9 miles to be exact. It was pretty inviting and if I had a right mind, I would have followed my hear to the track. But I was in the middle of a killer game of keep away against my 2 year old princess and grilling up some of the greatest steaks you will ever have in your life.
But what a sound!
That was UARA racing last night. Here is the story, and you may notice the last names of a couple of drivers Grissom and Pressley, sons of some decent racers from the early 90's.
King is King of Kingsport
A Monday race? I can't get pumped up for that.
You pretend as though you have a life.

No I believe all members of NABSAR sit in front of their computers with 6 or 7 spread sheets laid out in front of them agonizing over every detail.
Or throw a dart at the wall.
I usually ask Dave Blaney for professional insight.

"Hey Dave, which car passed you the fastest in practice?"
And to think this guy is a legend in Sprint Car racing.
Hamlin comes from a weird background of racing, he has one championship to his name.
He was really good on the short tracks in a Late Model to get his career off the ground. Moved up to Trucks for 5 races in a season, than a full season of Busch/Nationwide were he finished 5th. After that, stright to Cup.
He has never won a title at NASCAR's top level, and the only title he won at his local track was in 1997 in a Mini Stock. A four cylinder junker!!!!!
The secret to Porter's success:
Hamlin at Martinsville = Money
Its his home friggin track people lol.
