“The conduct reflected in your guilty plea resulted in the tragic loss of life and was inexcusable,” Goodell said in a letter to Stallworth on Thursday while announcing his suspension.

“While the criminal justice system has determined the legal consequences of this incident, it is my responsibility as NFL commissioner to determine appropriate league discipline for your actions, which have caused irreparable harm to the victim and his family, your club, your fellow players and the NFL.”

My question to you, Roger, is this. Why were you so quickly to suspend Stallworth, yet you took FOREVER to rule on Matt Jones who was caught with cocaine. Just saying, I like what your doing but you need to be more consistent with how your doing it. What about Brandon Marshall and his issues. I mean if your going to crack down. BE CONSISTENT.

I agree the punishment on Matt Jones should have been swifter but Stallworth killed a human being, thank God someone was quick to react. I wish Goodell was around when Leonard Little's incident happened.

Umm....Matt Jones didn't kill anyone. Therefore it wasn't as quick or serious. I understand your concern but I totally am for Goodell here, and have no complaints about anything. The legal system ****ed this one up, at least someone got it right.

It shouldnt take you long to dish out an indefinite suspension in the same amonut of time (like Vick, Pacman, etc). I mean if youre trying to clean up the league's image you shouldn't wait a long time like you did with Matt Jones.

I could see your argument if it happened the other way around (if he took awhile to decide with Stallworth, but acted instantly with Jones), but that's not the case.

He acted instantly with a murderer and took his time with a drug user.

I don't see the problem.
