    Worst NHL idea ever.

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/column...rry&id=2092088

Essentially, the idea is to create a(n inherently flawed) draft order for the NHL, make every player up for grabs, and let the teams go nuts and try to create good,w ell-balanced teams, which would bring in a new fanbase...

... while simultaneously destroying the old one, and putting us right where we are now, but with an entirely destroyed system of fan loyalty.

Teams who have spent their years spending little money, drafting well, making good trades (see: Vancouver) would get ****ed by this deal, since at least 3 of their players are worth a first rounder, and then another handful are worth a 2nd rounder, meaning of those 7 or so guys they have now, they would get... 1, with their late first rounder, and maybe another with their late 2nd rounder.

People like Terry Frei infuriate me, since they think THEY have the almighty idea to save the NHL, when their idea is just ridiculous BS.

I would be really close to quitting on the NHL if that happened. I love hockey but I don't want to see my Avs broken up.
    I aim to try

Atlanta would lose Kovalchuk and Heatley, Columbus would lose Rick Nash, and Minnesota would lose Gaborik, etc. Frei's been playing too much NHL 2004 franchise mode.
