It's possible that he did cheat... but then again most corners use Vaseline on the fighters at some point. I don't think Penn could have beaten him anyway, but you can clearly see how Penn's legs would not stay wrapped around GSP's waist and legs because of the excessive use of vaseline.

at best it was small spots of Vaseline/Jelly on GSP and even the commission whipped GSP down after the 2nd and 3rd rounds, BJ Penn has no excuse for losing

GSP was just way bigger and stronger period to contain, GSP has said he was walking in the cage that night at 187 Ibs while Penn may have been 170 at best

Penn can't admit that once again he was gassed and doesn't have build for fighting above 155
