I didn't even realize it was a penalty to hit the ball into the bunker.

I thought those things were there just to give the golfer areas to try and avoid because it's a difficult shot.

You're also penalized strokes?

That's not it. Dustin grounded his club, then lifted it up, and put it back down before his swing. If you're hitting from a bunker, that is a violation. But there's no way that thing he was standing in was a bunker. It was worn-out grass that turned into dirt from the crowd standing in it the entire four days of the tournament. Horrible ruling.
