That actually happened with the match two points from being over. Hah. Roddick apologized even though he had no business doing so.

    Re: U.S. Open

Roddick just lost the first set to young sensation Ernie Gulbis. Things aren't looking so good right now for ARod, who is barely serving 50% of his first serves. This now makes two New York City ARods who are struggling. Will he be able to make a comeback? Stay tuned.

Maybe its me, but I have lost interest in this tourny pretty quickly. I think I am suffering from some type of Wimbledon hangover or something. I just can't seem to get into it as much.

Nice recovery by Roddick to win last night, I thought midway through the second set that Gulbis would definitely get the victory but Andy hung in, despite completely breaking his racket.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

I actually watched the James Blake vs. black guy with the tilted Nike hat. That was enjoyable.

    Re: U.S. Open

Donald Young. Yeah, that was a pretty good one. Young is still young though, he's like 20 years old or something, so he's got plenty of good years ahead of him.

Tonight was a most entertaining day of action. In just one quarter of the men's draw, we had 4 out of 4 matches go 5 sets. Japanese kid Kei Nishikori just had the upset of the tournament, taking out 4-seed Dave Ferrer. We had John del Potro who is on a 20+ match winning streak (22 I think?) take out Gilles Simon in 5; we also had Stan the Man Wawrinka win in 5 and Andy Murray also won in 5 sets. Now, James Blake is about to face off against Mardy Fish in what might just be another 5-setter.

    Re: U.S. Open

    And the quarters are set:
    Nadal/Fish tomorrow night
    Murray/Del Potro tomorrow afternoon

    Federer/Muller Thursday afternoon
    Roddick/Djokovic Thursday night
    - Fish has had a nice run here beating both Blake and Monfils in straight sets, but Nadal is going to crush him. I got Nadal in 3.

    - Murray against Del Potro is the match I'm most anticipating tomorrow; Murray looked damn good in blowing Stan the Man Wawrinka off the court, but Del Potro is on a huge winning streak (4 straight tournament wins and 23 matches in a row) and he could give Murray fits. But I got Murray in 4 sets here.

    - Muller continued his magic run here since he made it out of the qualies and even though Federer has to slug his way through 5 sets today, I got him disposing of Muller pretty easily. Muller was impressive in beating Davydenko though, no way I saw that coming. Give me Federer in 4.

    - Djokovic also struggled to win his round of 16 match and it took 5 epic sets against Robredo, with Djokovic battling about 23 different injuries but eventually gutting it out. Roddick moved through easily in straights so he has the edge physically, but I like how Djokovic's game matches up against ARod's power game. It will come down to whether Djokovic is feeling 100% or not, but either way, I see this going 5 sets and either guy could take it. I'll go with Djokovic in 5 but I wouldn't be surprised if Roddick takes it either.

    Women's side:
Venus vs Serena in the quarters tomorrow night - who the **** knows with these two. Both have been playing great and anything could happen.

That was a ****ing epic match. Props for the two sisters turning it up two notches in the two tiebreakers.

Hmm. It's 11:30 PM and we're about to start Nadal/Fish. I'm not sure whether I should stay up until potentially 3 AM for this thing. Maybe it only lasts 90 minutes, who knows.
