Thread: French Open Final

  1. #1

    Tennis French Open Final

So far the final has been extremely one sided. Nadal smoked Federer in the first set 6-1. However, there seems to be some life from Federer in this second set. He needs to cut down on his unforced errors and really start hitting some sweet angle shots.

    GO ROGER!!!!!!!!!!!

This is over before it even started.

Yea, it's about all but over. Federer just doesn't have any confidence and Nadal is playing tremendously.

Wanted Fed to win so bad. But he got SMOKED. He just couldn't get anything started against Nadal. Nadal played so well it was ridiculous.

6-1, 6-3, 6-0. I would say Nadal was on his game today.

Yeah. I am pretty sure during his speech he apologized to Federer. It was like he didn't know what to say to him. Looked like he felt kind of bad for kicking the shit out of him, although Federer made so many mistakes. Not sure if it was because of Nadal or if it was because of Federer just not being in the game. His body language was pretty poor most of the game and just didn't see to have much fire power.

Nadal is about to go down like a *****. Lost the first set badly 6-2, scrapped his way to win the second set barely in the tiebreak, 7-6, and then he now just dropped the third set 6-4. Considering he's undefeated in his career at the French Open in 31 matches, this is shaping up to be a huge upset.

The upset of the year so far as Nadal tastes his first ever defeat at the French Open in 32 matches. Nadal had already lost on clay a couple of weeks ago to Federer in Madrid and now he loses in the fourth round (!) to the relatively unknown Soderling. This is a phenomenal streak that comes to an end.

I'm so shocked... Nadal is so good on Clay... just when we thought he could compete for a Slam he loses the French

If this isn't the year that Federer takes the French, then it's never.

Agree. If he can't get it done this year, then it won't ever happen. Both Nadal and Djokovic are out, he has a clear path to the championship. He'd better not choke now. A win here would also tie Sampras with 14 total.

Poor Federer had to battle back from losing the first two sets against Tommy Haas and win in 5. He's not making it easy on himself.

Soderling and Nadal have a history from Wimbledon. Nadal was taking his time during his serves and Soderling mocked him. They had an epic 5 set match in which Nadal won. Soderling is 1-3 vs Nadal in his career now.

    Re: French Open Final

Andy Roddick ... this guy is such a clown. As he was getting his ass thoroughly handed to him by Monfils yesterday, he started to complain to the chair ump that he wants the match suspended because there are "too many clouds" and he "can't see anything anymore." After the ref told Roddick to shut the **** up, Monfils switched sides after the changeover and snickered a bit, and Roddick yelled at him, "you're not good enough to be that cocky." Really, A-Rod? And what have you done lately? Jackshit, that's what. Of course, Monfils dispatched Roddick quickly in straight sets.
