NBA Potential for less than 10 Seniors to be drafted (NBA)

    At this rate. Incredible.

On Thursday the NBA released the official early-entry candidate list. A whopping 90 underclassmen have declared for the draft -- 69 from U.S. colleges and 22 international early-entry candidates.

That's going to make for an incredibly tight draft. Of the 90 early-entry candidates, only 42 are in Insider's Top 60. While that's bad news for early- entry candidates, it's even worse news for college seniors.

Currently only two seniors, Roy Hibbert and D.J. White, are projected as first-round picks and only six seniors are projected in the second round. Those are historic lows.

When you factor in that 22 top seniors skipped the Portsmouth Invitational draft camp ... someone isn't doing the math.

Of course, many of the players who have declared can withdraw their names if they don't like where they are projected to go. Players have until Monday, June 16 at 5 p.m. ET to officially withdraw. Of the 69 college underclassmen who have declared only 17 have hired agents, ending their college eligibility.

After speaking with a number of NBA scouts and GMs, here's our best take on where each underclassmen is projected to go in the draft.

Mofo, I'm already calling it, Gaylord is going to be riding DeAndre Jordan or Anthony Randolph's ass along with Ty Lawson. Even after Derrick Rose wins an MVP in 4 years.

Wow...so many of those underclassmen are IDIOTS, sucks for them that instead of staying in school and getting an education they'll be riding the bench in Italy 3 years down the road...
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

I cant believe Nevada forward JaVale McGee, he avg 14 ppg, 7 rpg, and 2.8 bpg, he was a nice player, a 7ft sophmore, I think he would benefit of coming back his Junior year, I dont think he has hired an agent yet.

Sounds like a similar player to Donte Greene, at least physically. Donte was more of a perimeter guy, but was a 6'10" freshman, who declared but didn't sign an agent. Unfortunately, i dont think donte will come back. Hence the discussion between me and Brownie, the two orange-fans

If they have a * by their name, they haven't signed an agent yet.

There's several in there, while talented in college and did well for the most part, should not enter. Not this draft, it's going to be loaded.

Collison and Hansbrough for example, good decision. They could be in the top 15 next draft, while they prolly fall to late 1st, maybe NOT even 1st.

    On JaVale McGee

McGee, a long lanky, ultra-athletic big man, has been solidly on NBA scouts' radar screen all season. He had a coming out party against North Carolina in December and from that point forward, has been considered a draft sleeper for anywhere from the late lottery to late first round. Right now we have him somewhere in the middle, but with great workouts, he has the potential to crack the lottery. You aren't going to find many prospects with his combination of size, length, athleticism and basketball skills.

He had 14 pts 7 boards and 4 blocks, how exactly was that his "coming out party"?

Yeah, but the point is that UC Irvine is not ANYONE'S breakout game. When you do that against UNC, you have proven something.

He put up better numbers against UNLV and Cal, and those are not UC Irvine.
