Since my Edmonton Oilers didnt make the playoffs, I have been rooting for the Penguins.

Let's Hear it for the Penguins!!! They eliminated the Flyers today and are awaiting the winner of the Stars/Red Wings series to play in the Stanley Cup!!!

6-0, what a fantastic game. This is the exact kind of win the Pens needed to carry momentum into a Red Wings series in particular. I am glad the Flyers brought their physical game for game four and caused for us to tweak the game plan up. The Pens, up to that point, hadn't been challenged truly yet so I am hoping we'll see a focused Penguins squadron ready to play tough two-way hockey but dominate with that high octane offense we all love to see from the steel city.

Tonight should be a REAL good game. NBC is carrying the game so I encourage anyone who remotely like hockey to call some buddies over and watch the game. Game three was a bit more like how I expected the series as opposed to game two (I think even Wings fans would agree with that, outside of thinking Pittsburgh would come out on top in game three.)

    Re: Hockey picks.

Anyone else stay up last night to watch the game go into triple overtime?

Wow. We were absolutely dominated in that third period, I don't think the Pens got a shot on net til there was only 7 or 8 minutes left in that period. Then Talbot forced that goal in by sheer will with only 34 seconds left. After a grueling overtime, in which the Pens were lucky they didn't let slip away, Sykora and the fresh back into the game Gonchar put the cherry on top and force a game 6. Fleury was our savior though, no question.

Fell asleep sometime in the first overtime; watching The Mole really wore me out. Talbot's equalizer really got me excited however. I love it when the "pulling the goaltender for an extra attacker in the last minute" strategy works.

    Stick it to the Wings!

The Penguins seemed to have that game all but wrapped up, then they lost it. A four and a half hour game. It seemed like it would never end. It was the fourth longest playoff game in NHL history. It was looking reminiscent of that Rockies/Padres game. They've got to be soo happy for the one day's rest.

As for my fave teams, I have to stick with the west coast and go with the Sharks, although I do like the Canucks as well Sir Sidney and the gang.
