Not the smartest move, IMO. I would think that this is not how the Titans wanted things to work out. You'll probably see Billy Volek getting some starting time, with Young being worked in slowly. IMO, Vince Young isn't ready for the NFL. I wouldn't be shocked to see Vince Young in 5 years, be called a bust.
I believe Jeff Fisher will start the season with Billy Volek at QB. Remember one of the reasons they drafted Young is because they believed he would be better than Leinart in 3-4 years. I don't think they will hold him out that long, however I believe Volek will get most of the starts this upcoming season unless he gets injured or just plays god awful. I don't think they want to rush Young, keep in mind the only offensive strategy he knew how to run was shot-gun... because thats about all they ran in Texas.
"They asked me if I wanted the ball in Game 6, and I said yes. I'll always say yes. That's what I did with Jack McKeon. I told him, 'Let me see how I feel tomorrow.' I went out, did a long toss, came in and said, 'I'll pitch, I want it, I want to do it.' And it ended up working out." -Josh Beckett
Vince Young will NOT be better than Matt Leinart, period. Leinart is better than Carson Palmer in some aspects. Palmer is a future HOF'er in my opinion.

I agree as well that Leinart is a much better player than Young for more than one reason. He has already won the confidence of Denny Green to call his own audibles in camp, something he has NEVER done with any other QB before because of Leinarts knowledge and quick learning ability of offenses.
However, I think it's a stretch to say he is better than Palmer. Leinart doesn't have the same arm strength OR accuracy as Palmer. Palmer is the closest thing to the second coming of Troy Aikman, if not better.
Now, I hate the Bengals because I am a HUGE fan of the Steel City Boys which translates to me hating Palmer, but I would take a healthy Palmer any day of the week over Leinart, and twice on Sundays.

Leinart ain't touchin Palmer.
I didn't say I agreed with that statement, I just said some scouts said he could be better than Palmer.

Leinart is more NFL ready. Young is a real wild-card, he could be better or be worse. Either way, its going to take 3 or so years for Young to start producing.Originally Posted by redsfan28

eh, volek will probably start for the first half of the season. then it will be time to see just how good young can be.

You're the same guy who said Young was "good. Real good" after the Rose Bowl.Originally Posted by ATLien
Because he was "good, real good" after the Rose Bowl. But he's in the NFL now.
