Let me give you an example of WHY you wont end up with a 4 digit number. I'll pick another number quickly off the top of my head:
97531
If you jumble the numbers, randomly in any order and subtract the second number from the first, there is NO WAY that you could end up with a 4 digit number, thus right there, debunking the 4-digit theory.
Uh, obviously you're not reading the instructions, Lynch.
You're supposed to subtract the second number from the first number, which gives you a new number. With this new number, you circle one of its digits, and remove that digit. The resulting newer number is the one you must post.
Example.
93815 - 58139 = 35676
so new number is 35676
circle one digit:
356(7)6
remove that digit, new number is
3566
3566 is the number you post for guessing

Now if you wanted to have a 4 digit number at this point, the proper way of wording that would be "remove the number you circled and jumble the remaining numbers". I followed the directions as it said to mix up the numbers except the one that I circled.
you mix it up AFTER removing the number you circled.
HENCE the "so one less digit"
