I've gotta spend $450 on books.
One of them is about WEST VIRGINIA COAL MINERS. I'm going into MUSIC EDUCATION. Coal miners love to sing and play the flute, I guess.
How much is your college ripping YOU off for books this semester?

My beloved high school is making me buy books that we never use.
In 2 years, 7 books totaling $250 that we never even brought to class or were told to read. It's like they didn't exist.

Only in the $200's(Maybe up around $300 after those that didn't have any books picked yet tell us to get one). Not bad at all.

Homer: We're proud of you, boy.
Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.
This is only in 2 years.

my sister had to pay 50 bucks a semester to rent all her books, which wouldnt have been good for me as i tended to abuse my books when i would get pissed at them. Me, I had to buy all my books. I usually tried to find my books slightly used, as an engineering book new can range up to 135 bucks, while it being used may only be 85-100. (some engineering books were only 90 new, so you could find em at the low low price of 70!)
I think the most i ever spent in any one semester was 375 bucks when i had to buy like 7 books total (only like 2 engineering books).
what sucks even more is when you go and sell them back and oops, they are changing volumes or something. you get all of like $2.50 per book for em then. (sometimes you get lucky).

About $550, and all of them were used I think.
I'm in my second quarter of college and I could tell you, always buy used books. You may not be lucky and you'll have to buy them new, but its cheaper.
Last quarter, I didn't even bother returning the books because they wouldn't give you a fair deal of money. For $65 new book, I probably would've gotten $10. What a rip-off! And two of the three classes I'm taking right now, I've wrote on them, and I'll most likely return my two composition books that my class rarely use.

I have a small scholarship this year to pay for some of my books. Fortunately, I only need 4 and I am figuring 300-400 dollars. Assholes.
