AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin drivers making their morning commute were in for a surprise when two road signs on a busy stretch of road were taken over by hackers. The signs near the intersection of Lamar and Martin Luther King boulevards usually warn drivers about upcoming construction, but Monday morning they warned of "zombies ahead."

Well, as one of my dormmates has stated, it really depends on a few factors:

1) Slow moving or Fast moving zombies?
2) Is the mutation strain only by contact, or is it airborne?
3) Are the zombies armed?
4) Can the zombies use doors?
5) Are the zombies situated only in one area, or are they everywhere?

1) They're medium speed. Not running but not walking either. More like a powerwalk/jog
2) Contact, duh, do you know anything about zombies?
3) Of course not, they're zombies

5) They're isolated, but spreading fast

And, in response to your hypothetical situation, the proper escape plan would be to either find someone with a car and speed away using side streets(zombies would be most likely to congregate on main roads or highways, to get as many weapons as possible, and find people who are capable of using said weapons best(not necessarily the strongest, but someone who's quick and powerful). Then, you would have to find an area that repels some of the zombies(from what my dormmate said, the best area would be something near water, preferably elevated.
