popular does not equal good.
Communism was popular. Fascism was popular. Slavery was popular. Boy bands were popular. Extreme, but you get my point
While I agree with your base point those examples (outside of boybands) aren't fair examples.
There's practical reasoning that can argue why fascism, slavery, and communism aren't good, despite propaganda campaigns making them popular.
Movies are a matter of opinion.

just proving the point that popular doesn't necessarily mean it's good...American Idol anyone?
Oh, and I watched Batman Begins on DVD tonight...good stuff. I can't wait to see Dakr Knight Monday in IMAX.
Pointing out that horrible ideas used to be popular thanks to bad upbringings and propaganda proves nothing in regards to things that are subject to opinion.
Slavery is a bad idea, that's a fact.
Whether or not Wall-E is good is a matter of the opinion of the viewer, no matter how much Providence A's agrees or disagrees.

my point wasn't my opinion...my point was just because some thing is popular, doesn't mean it's good as GF stated. That's not an opinion...it's a fact.
But your point is invalidated because you cited examples that can be proven to be bad, whereas the subject at hand (Wall-E) can't be proven to be good or bad, because that's a matter of the viewer's opinion.
The only thing we can say is the majority of the movie-going audience obviously felt it was worth paying for.
That being said, these movie goers are paying to get in before they have a chance to establish their opinion of the movie...

Poor choice of words on my part.
Doesn't negate the main point.

I wish Christian Bale would drop the male porn star voice when he's in the bat suit. We get it, you're tough and scary...no need to sound like Scruff McGruff all the time.

Just got back from seeing it.

Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
