That's actually a myth. While nothing works in perfect academia equilibrium, the effect of a dollar spent elsewhere (especially with a place like China) is of virtual no negative impact to our economy and in the grand scheme of things, the majority of that dollar comes back in some form or another. I'd explain more but I had to suffer through enough semesters of economics.

The tax cuts though in general though are terrible policy IMO for the longterm economic future of the USA. And cutting the federal reserve? Don't get me started.

The scary thing is ALL, and I sincerely mean ALL of the remaining candidates, are going to continue to **** the economy over with their various proposed policies.

soooooo, even though the majority of products in America are from China, when we buy said products, they don't get the money? Don't the companies then buy even more of said Chinese products after we buy them? we borrow the money from them and then buy their products with the money we borrowed from them. Obviously, it's not a 1:1 ratio, but are you telling me they're not getting some of their own money back plus the loan (assuming we ever paid it off)??

no it wasnt. the economy was slowing down in the middle of 1999, just like the economy was starting to rebound in the last year of Bush 41.
