Lynch: You have participated in so many jobs over the years. You made some good money and you gotta know lot of MN athletes and golfers from working at the bar. You were certainly blessed with lot of gifts and talent.

Part of my comings and goings over the years has put me in a contact with a lot of local athletes (college and pro, current and former) as well as a number of celebs (musicians, politicians both local and national). I'm just lucky to have been in the right place at the right time. I know I've caught some flack from people for my attitude towards athletes and how I feel that largest % of them are dipshits. Well, they are. I've witnessed some of it first hand and have also gotten to know some very nice athletes (and former athletes). Believe me, they are no different than anyone else, they just happen to have a talent that puts them in the spotlight for a few short years.
Have a good weekend everyone. I'm out.
Lynch: You still have to meet Sid Hartman though. Then I will really be impressed with the people that you have spoke to.
Hell, I'm 18 years old and unemployed. I'm not really that desperate for money. I have my parents to back me up and have plenty of money saved for college.
I could use a job to pay for the expensive, yet, worthless books for my classes.
Heh, similar situation to Husker about half a year ago. 17 years old, no need for a lot of money with a lot of parental backing (and this money won't do squat except for spending money in college).
Although now I have a purpose (saving for the school's trip to Rome/Greece/Spain in April) to work.

Then out of fairness to the others you will be Slagathor.
I am in the Air Force. I get to go to school for free and I get to collect retirement at 40 years old. I make $3,000/month right now. I really like it. Especially at the job I am at now. As you can see, I am not too busy with work as I am constantly on the forums while at work. I spent 5 years of my career in the field and now I caught an opportunity to sit in an air conditioned office! I love it.
Isn't that the sad truth? I am so glad I am done with college because I hated paying for the textbooks. You are so right on worthless.Originally Posted by HuskerFan2002
Speaking of books, when I went to college at the U of WI, we actually rented our books. Of course, if we wanted to, we could purchase any and all books, but it sure was nice with all of the other expenses of going to a university, that we didn't have to incure that expense as well.
I work at McDonalds, the same place when i had worked for 3 years from 00-02. It gets me thru college and thats whats counts.

Yes I am a teenager and it is a part time job. In my school there is a program called thhe Academy of Finance and between our junior and senior year(during the summer) we get a paid internship with a business and it looks like I will be getting this job(hopefully). I will most likely be a bank teller.Originally Posted by Fishercat
Yeah, when I start my Office Technology program in July, I'm taking 3 classes($180 a class) and books should roughly cost $400-$500. It's outrageous! Just think if I was learning how to become a doctor, that amount for books will double or even triple.Originally Posted by Steak
What's sad about it is that you might use the book once or twice and that's it. I'm better off buying used books than new.
Im 19, and im a night manager at Schlotzky's Deli, I make $8.00 an hour...Dont like working in the food business, but it is really easy, and i guess it pays my bills.
Primarily on Full Tilt Poker, but I've been working at UltimateBet a little lately, too.
And whenever this damned nearby casino finishes opening up nearby (non-alcoholic casino! YES!), I can go gamble there.
