    Casino Royale...

Was Amazing. This new Bond was by far the best in my lifetime, and I've seen every Bond multiple times. Such a great film. The acting and cinematography were truly awesome, and the abscense of all of the fake action and gadgetry made it amazing.

    Bond is back.

I'd say it's a Bond film, it's just not the Bond we're used to because they went for something a little darker and more close to the book (in terms of the plot development and character development taking priority over making Bond look suave and cool).

I felt it to be much closer to the spirit of the book, which many of the films have been very opposite of. I loved the gritty nature of it (for a Bond film) and how for the first time in a long while, you didn't know if Bond had all of the answers (of course that he would win, but at least I was invested in the suspense.) I thought it was a great flick that surprisingly didn't disappoint like I feared it would with all the hype it saw before it's release.

I didnt think it was amazing. But I still thought it was good for what it was. Most Bond flicks had plot holes a mile wide (this one does too) and bond babes and this one does.

I just thought the last 20 minutes was kinda blah and took too much away from the overall movie.

Still, it was far better than anything that Roger moore put out, and even Timothy Dalton (i still think he kinda got a bad rap)

Many of you were probably thrown off by the physical aspects, but he was the most stone cold killer ever. He also actually did seem to know way more than anyone else. He had pretty much all the answers, and he was definetly the most machine-like, as in the books. All of the scenes were really good, I don't see how anyone could have found this movie displeasing, especially if you walked in like I did expecting another assinine Pierce Brosnan movie where everything blows up and Brosnan gets away at the last second.

eh, the physical aspects didnt bother me at all. I did like some of the pierce brosnan stuff, i just thought they gave pierce bad crap to work with. I liked Goldeneye, but disliked Die Another Day when it just went tooooo far over the top.

I did like the fact that M finally has more than a bit role and I actually didnt mind the ruggedness. My only complaint is the last 20 minutes of the movie that killed some of the momentum.

I'd still give it a solid 3 stars.

You mean the stupid love scene part? Yeah, had they cut that to about 5 minutes, it would've been even better.

Its not Bond without all the gadgets. Even Sean Connery had the gadgets.

Technically, gadgets actually make it less Bond, since the only official Bond are the novels by Fleming, and he didn't have too many gadgets in them.

They're trying (and succeedingm) at making the new movies a lot more ike the books than the overly-flashy, huge-gadget, crazy shit happens movies we've seen in recent years.
