Just with a cursory look at Volquez's minor league stats, while he may not be ready, he has some nice potential. 10k per 9 in A Ball with Bakersfield, and while that dipped by three strikeouts and the walk rate doubled when he went to double A, he kept his hit rate steady. I don't think he's ready and he's not a huge prospect, but the Rangers sure could use some nice arms.
Speaking of which, it's now or never for Eraser. And really, if the Rangers don't want him, send him to Boston. Good WHIP, solid ERA, three years in the majors. He hasn't thrown many innings, but he could be a nice set-up man for Francisco Cordero.
