-MLB.comJosh Hamilton will have surgery on Tuesday to repair a partial tear in his abdominal muscle. He is expected to be out 4-6 weeks. The injury is considered not as severe as the sports hernia injury that Ian Kinsler was dealing with at the end of last season. The Rangers expect Hamilton back shortly after the All-Star break.
The Rangers are also unsure if Frank Francisco will be available on Monday. He is still dealing with a sore right shoulder but has shown some improvement and the Rangers are not putting him on the disabled list as of now.
At least its not a season ending injury or something like that but it still sucks. Hamilton is a fun player to watch and his comeback story is amazing. Hopefully all goes well with his surgery.
