The Rangers need all the help they can get after having the worst bullpen last year. Turnbow was supposed to throw for scouts later this month but the Rangers seized the opportunity.According to MLB.com, the Rangers have reached a tentative agreement with Derrick Turnbow on a minor league contract.
Agent Damon Lapa explained that Turnbow opted for the Rangers over the Marlins and Pirates because of his familiarity with pitching coach Mike Maddux. If Turnbow makes the major league team he'll earn $925,000 plus an additional $325,000 in potential incentives.
