    Tigers @ Rangers: June 5th-7th

    Game 1 Recap
John Rheinecker made his first appearance of the year starting for the Rangers in Tuesday game against the Tigers. Despite a huge first inning and 6 runs off offensive support, Rheinecker failed to get the win lasting just 3 innings and allowing 4 runs on 7 hits.

Tigers starter Nate Robertson was much worse however. The Rangers hammered Robertson for 6 runs on 4 hits, 2 walks, and a homerun as he failed to make it past the first inning not even registering a single out. The big hit in the Rangers 6 run 1st inning was Victor Diaz's 8th homerun of the year, a grand slam.

The Tigers got all 4 of their runs off Rheinecker including a Brandon Inge homerun in the 4th which signaled the end of John's day. The Rangers led 6-4 at that point. Thanks to a bullpen that allowed just 2 hits over 6 scoreless innings of work, the Rangers went on to win the game 7-4 with Eric Gagne nailing down his 5th save of the season.

    Game 2 Recap
Once again, Kevin Millwood continues to struggle. In yesterday's 10-0 loss to the Tigers Millwood lasted just 3.2 innings getting hammered for 7 runs on 9 hits and giving up a pair of homeruns to Gary Sheffield.

Justin Verlander dominated for the Tigers holding the Rangers to just 5 hits, 4 of them singles, over 7 scoreless innings of work to improve to 6-2 on the year and lower his ERA to 3.12.

The only offensive highlights for Texas were Sammy Sosa's 13th double of the year and Marlon Byrd's 2 for 2 and a walk performance.

This was the 2nd time the Rangers have been shutout this season. The first was April 18th in a 6-0 loss to the White Sox.
