With today's game being postponed due to rain, Monday's game turned out to be the only one of the 2-game set that was played.
After a rocky start against the White Sox giving up 5 runs over 5 innings, Ranger ace Kevin Millwood was looking to get back on track. It didn't work out that way though as he again allowed 5 runs. This time on 10 hit over 6 innings. The bullpen was solid though with Mahay, Feldman, and Wilson combining for 3 scoreless innings of relief.
The Mariners were the first team to break through scoring 4 of their 5 runs in the 4th inning to take a 4-0 lead. Texas struck back for 2 in the bottom of the inning thanks to a 2-run homerun by Hank Blalock, his 1st homerun of the year. The Rangers added 2 more in the 5th to tie the game at 4 and end the day for Seattle starter Baek. Unfortunaly the Mariner pen was just as good as the Ranger pen pitching 4.2 scoreless innings. The Mariners got their final run off of Millwood in the 7th and went on to win 5-4.
