Game 1 Matchup Notes
Pineiro: After 3 solid starts allowing 8 runs in 19 innings, the A's scored 4 runs on 8 hits in less than 3 innings on him in his last start. In his only other start on April 20th Joel gave up 3 runs on 4 hits in 5.1 innings in a no decision.
Eaton: In his last start Eaton allowed a 3-run homerun to Juan Rivera in the first, then plunked the next guy and was ejected after just 2/3 of an inning. He did pitch 6 scoreless inning in his previous start in Minnesota though. Eaton is 1-2 with a 4.50 ERA in 3 career starts against Seattle.

Meche: He has been roughed up in his last 3 starts allowing 16 runs over 14.1 innings and taking 2 losses. In his only other start against Texas on May 30th he gave up 6 runs on 9 hits in 5.1 innings for the loss.
Wells: Kip was scratched from his last start due to inflammation in his right shoulder but seems ready to make his 2nd start as a Ranger. In his first on August 2nd against the Twins he allowed just 1 run over 5 innings for the win.

Moyer: He has also been roughed of as of late allowing 28 runs in 33.1 innings over his last 6 starts. In his only other start against Texas this year Moyer gave up 4 runs on 8 hits in 6 innings in a no decision.
Volquez: In his first start of the year against Oakland he allowed 4 runs in 5 inning while striking out 4. It was a respectable start since he went 0-4 with a 14.21 ERA in 6 appearances in 2005.

Hernandez: Felix has been near dominating over his lsat 4 starts allowing just 6 runs over 36 innings. In 2 starts against Texas this year Hernandez is 1-1 and has allowed 9 runs in 11 innings of work.
Millwood: Kevin failed in his bid for his 11th win last time out allowing 5 runs over 6 innings against Oakland, although 4 of them came in 1 inning. In 2 starts against Seattle this year Millwood has gone 1-0 and allowed 7 runs on 21 hits over 13 innings.
