General, wrong choice. You cannot dislike DeRosa.

Time for some Go Fish... Does anyone have a Rod Barajas? No? I'd rather draw a different Ranger onto the team anyway.

I see Laird as the number 1 catcher on the team. Barajas hits what .250 and can't field? Not exactly the catcher I'd like. Given he is hitting .270 this season, he clearly is only on a hot streak, soon to be devestated by a horrendous July as usual. He throws out runners at a 35% clip and the team ERA is 4.97 when he is calling pitches. On the other hand, Laird is throwing out 60% of runners, though a smaller sample size but if you watch him you can really see the difference between his arm and Rod's. The team ERA is 4.21 when he catches and he swings the bat much better, .333 currently and nothing is saying he should lower that average.

I vote Bauer, purely in an effort to save DeRosa. It doesn't make sense to boot off the teams top hitter.
