A few notes on the Devil Rays (Jackson and Waechter)
Basically, Doug Waechter had another solid outing today against the Red Sox. Two runs in 4 1/3 innings isn't great, but with a lot of the Sox starters playing, it is pretty nice to see. He has a great ERA this spring and Rotoworld believes he'll have a starting job.
This means once highly-touted Edwin Jackson is unlikely to get a spot in the rotation, so he'll be stuck in the pen with Orvella and Miceli, or perhaps, he'll be visiting all those lovely superstars in Triple A.
Also, Baldelli's first spring start? Friday.

An update to this.
The Yankees might have taken Edwin Jackson out of the mix for a spot in Tampa Bay's rotation by pounding him for six runs -- four earned -- in 3 2/3 innings today.
Jackson has been excellent in three of his five starts, but the other two outings have left him with a 5.29 ERA. Doug Waechter was ahead of Jackson going in and has a 2.19 ERA right now, so it's probably going to be his job.
Well, it looks like Jackson's out of the running, not a huge surprise.

Not like they're going anywhere... Both are decent players but I don't see their impact as the 5th starter on the division's worst team as significant.

That Baez trade was ****ed up. An Allstar closer and Lance Carter for a five year top prospect going nowhere and Chuck Tiffany?

Kind of amusing considering how long they wait to deal a guy.
