Rays signed free agent RHP Tyler Sturdevant to a minor league deal. He has spent seven seasons in the Cleveland Indians organization, but has not logged any ML time.

He was suspended for 50 games in mid-February after testing positive for an amphetamine in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. He has been playing for the Aguilas del Zulia in the Venezuelan Winter League.
