    Rays Peralta suspended 8 games

    According to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, Joel Peralta has been suspended eight games.
    Peralta will appeal the punishment and is available for Thursday night's series-finale against the Nationals. He was ejected Tuesday after umpires found excessive pine tar on the inside of his glove. That glove was confiscated and sent to the MLB offices in New York City.
    Sounds about right!

    I just laugh at suspensions for pitchers. This costs him what, realistically 2-3 maybe 4 innings of work? It's like when a pitcher suspended 5 to 8 days. They miss...one start.

    The Rays have no more off days til the AS break. This will actually hurt them.
