    Alex Cobb's season is done

    First tests of his arm didn't find anything, further tests showed a blockage in his rib cage.

    Bummer! I was hoping to see him, Hellickson and Moore in the rotation come September.

    Surgery has been postponed, he will be reevaluated on Monday after having a bad reaction to meds.

    Cobb will have surgery today in Dallas.

    Cobb update


    RHP Alex Cobb had successful surgery Thursday to remove the blockage near his right first rib caused by Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. The surgery was performed in Dallas by Gregory Pearl, the vascular surgeon who has treated a number of major league pitchers.
    Cobb is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the start of spring training.
