RHP Derek Rodriguez has been sent back to the White Sox. Rodriguez was
a Rule 5 draft pick. The Rays offered him back and the Sox accepted,
paying the Rays $25,000, half the original fee.
I was surprised last year when Hinkse was left off the playoff roster after the season he had. Then I was surprised they didn;t offer him a contract but after the Burrell deal, I see why. Pirates picked a solid bat in Hinske who has really worked hard at being more versatile.
I'm glad we had Hinske as a player. He was a great mentor to Longo.
