    Rays Make Offer To Dotel

    In an effort to upgrade their pen, the Rays have made an offer to free agent Octavio Dotel and talked to Davis Riske and Russ Springer.
    Dotel would get the first crack at the closer's role if he joined the Rays. He's also believed to have talked to the Red Sox and Indians, among others. Also, the Yankees would like to have him back, though they won't be able to offer him a closer's role.
    As long as they don't go overboard with the money, I have no problem with it. Better than Tyler Walker.

    Hopefully Dotel won't bank in like most players have this offseason getting significant raises.

    Dotel has been a reliable reliever in the past, but has had some serious injury issues. If the deal has a low-base, and easily reached incentives, I think it is a wise move.

    If Dotel's anything like he was in his short stint with the Yankees...
    I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.
