    Shields named Tampa RotY by writers


    Tampa Bay's local baseball writers have selected Jamie Shields as the club's rookie of the year.
    Shields won six games with a 4.84 ERA for the Rays. He was shut down for the year last week as he's pitched a career high 186 innings between Triple-A and the majors this season.

    For a team with a farm system's like Tampa, don't you have to feel a bit disappointed when your RotY is Jamie Shields? Did anyone not in Shields family know who he was before this year? Seriously, and he didn't do THAT well either.

    Tough year in Tampa.
