Too bad there's no one in the draft to come in right away to dominate like TD.

Fighting for the first pick in the draft is like fighting over who gets to **** the fat chick.

Two words: Ryan Leaf. Chargers fans would rather **** the fat chick than have creamed themselves over Cryin Ryan.

Nobody knew how good Randy Moss was going to be. 20 teams passed on Moss before Vikings took him.

All drafts are risks. There will always be busts and there will always be the surprise player (diamond in the rough).

And it is STILL debatable how "good" he is... Personally, I would never want the guy playing on my team.... but I am not stupid enough to think Leaf is/was a better player.. Leaf was the prime definition of bust, just like Akili Smith etc.... just saying the "greatness" of Moss is highly suspect

He's fine by me. I mean, you can have Travis Taylor if you want, but I'm taking Moss without question.

I never talked about his attitude. Moss minus the attitude would be welcomed by any team.

Statistically, 6 years of 1,000 yrd receiving w/ 2 yrs of over 100 receptions. Not to mention an average of 13 TDs annually in the time period of 1998 to 2004. Yup that falls under questionable greatness.

Intangibles make the player great or not compared to his peers... there are other WR"s with similar stats in this era of mega passing.... Harrison, Holt, Owens etc.. Moss is not leaps and bounds above anybody... like a Rice, Hutson, etc were in their day/prime

1000 yards receiving is like 1000 yards rushing now.. .not all that great a benchmark....

I greatly question his "greatness"... not just because of his antics, non-team based play, etc... it is his unwillingness to play the needed aspects of the game that happen in the 35 to 50 offensive plays that happen when he is not the receiver of the reception

I never said Moss was leaps and bounds ahead of everyone, I just said I would take him on my team. I think he is great, but that does not mean he's the greatest. Now I would rather have Hines Ward if I had the choice.

I never said Moss was the greatest, but I'll let statistics speak for themselve:

    Rice (1985 to 1991) - 9072 yrds, 526 Rec., 93 TDs
    Moss (1998 to 2004) - 9142 yrds, 574 Rec., 90 TDs

Didn't compare Don Hutson, mainly because NFL was a different game back in his day. But nonetheless, Moss and Rice are very comparable.

  13. #73
Yeah, but no way in hell Moss will have the longevity of Rice.
