You could say it happens all the time, when teams think a player is really talented and then when he's playing against other pros he doesn't elevate his game. If you think of talent ratings as a scouting report rather than actual talent levels. IRL there are no talent ratings, just guessing and scouting reports.

that's why I was comparing it to scout analysis. I didn't say anything about real life talent numbers.

i doubt many scouts change their mind after 2 weeks. I can see over the offseason, though. That happens a lot.

I think this is sarcasm.... But never the less. I've been just of big of a complainer as anyone about my talent losses. But that said. I love this league. This is the closest league to real life as there is. Honestly, a 10 contact player should be an Albert pujols or a Joe DiMaggio. A once a decade type player. How many teams in the MLB start a Paul Janish who would have a 5 or 6 contact. How many "power" hitters have a high contact as well? And pitching? There's only ever been a few 10-10-10 pitchers in history in my opinion. But there a few around. If you want huge talent swings you can join Hybrid or even to an extent Molinas. Both leagues are run very well and I'm in both. But, no offense to Molina or OM, this is my favorite league because of the talent (or lack there of). And the fact you have to do it within the financial constraints make it even better. So talent loses happen, yeah it sucks. But it's a total crap shoot anyway. Have fun, take gambles, but don't hate on the best league there is.

In your defense, Chicago has been desolate for quite some time, keep at it and things will turn around. Kansas City is a great example of this!

Minnesota was AWFUL when I took them over (pre 2010). I had like 3 prospects and a 4-5 league average guys on the entire roster and like 50 million dollars in debt from a previous regime. Don't be afraid of being creative and trading anything not nailed down. Some of my bigger impact trades are the little ones that I am sure the TC probably laughed at.
