The randomness that is the OOTP playoffs? Damn impressive regardless though.

He has two aces and a solid closer, and a good defense. If he doesn't even make the series, that'll be a massive upset. But you're right, OOTP easily dictates that he could be swept in the first round. And GM-less teams seem to do well. Go computer go!

I might change my AL pick to Minnesota. I forgot he finally figured out he needs relievers to close out games.

I'm not saying he shouldn't make it or win it all. You know as well as I do that OOTP does some weird shit sometimes. Many times it knocks out the best team and sometimes mediocre teams win...like that time my Cardinals lost to the CPU Dams in TSSL. That was embarrassing.

    I lose a stud catcher.

    I lose a stud pitcher.

    Here we go, playoffs!

Mid-season trades went well, although just lost one of the pitchers.

Note: First division title as the Cardinals. Always been the Wild Card in the playoffs since I've been STL.

Also only division winner not to break 100 wins. However, I'll credit that to having three other teams in my division winning more than 85 games.

Atlanta had a GM who made changes to begin the season and then went bye-bye. He was someone's friend here I believe so hopefully someone knows how to contact him.

    Re: 2033 S3SL Random Ramblings

Can Minnesota break the curse and get back to the world series and win for the first time since 2014? Time will tell. I think I played NYY real early in the season before I made the overhaul to the pen (especially Daigy). So who knows I need my rotation to step up big and eliminate the need for MR guys and just go straight to Daigy. Interesting matchup OBP (3rd in majors) and Power (2nd in homers) vs OBP (2nd in majors) and Speed (6th in SB). And yes I know he's 12th in sb but I'm 10th in Homers so I ignored that for the more distinct differences.

    Batting AVG: .284 (2nd)
    Homeruns: 193 (10th)
    Walks: 694 (2nd)
    Stolen Bases: 281 (6th)
    Runs Scored: 995 (3rd)

    Pitching ERA: 4.04 (3rd)
    Opponents AVG: .252 (5th)
    HRs Allowed: 92 (2nd)
    Walks Allowed: 377 (2nd)
    Runs Allowed: 710 (3rd)

Fiore looks like the real deal behind the plate as heir to Douglas Blair this season. I dont really ever remember having a team that stole so many bases. 7 guys with 20+ SBs.

ruiz had 42, john pack missed a 40-40 year by 1 of each, another guy with 31, 2 more with 28, and 1 more with 26. thats fairly well rounded i guess. i dont expect to win anyway... i still dont know how i won 108 games, and possibly more had i not sat steele, barcenas and smathers for the last sim.

Made a run at the WC to finish 1 game behind TB... well, not being in the playoffs sucks, but congrats Mofo... I'll be back next season pressing for the AL East title again

Well kids, The Mustache is on track to join the 500 HR club at the end of the 2035 season, and Bemudez in 2036.

    Re: 2033 S3SL Random Ramblings

My 4 FA signings did well this season.

    SS Bovee - $1.35 mil x 4 years

He was signed with Coyle retiring in mind, which Coyle said he is doing. He was primarily a backup, but had an OPS of .830 in 147 ABs. He'll be my starting SS from this point forward.

    C Clamer - $1.75 mil x 4 years

He was signed to replace Depaz as my backup C. He had an OPS of .850 in 158 ABs.

    LF Kirk - $2.35 mil x 4 years

I signed him to be my starting LF, which allowed me to move Tapley to CF. His ratings have creeped up. He had a .305/.381/.469/.850 line. He set career highs in hits (164), RBIs (94), SBs (12), AVG (.305), and OBP (.381). He only made 6 errors all season in LF, too.

    MR/SP Burdge - $2.15 mil x 4 years

I signed him to be a reliever and injury insurance for the rotation. Boy was he needed due to some minor injuries and poor performance. McCarthy never established himself, Uppercut started slow, Alvarez missed time due an injury, and Shuford had an off-year. Burdge stepped it up by starting the year 12 - 0 and going 15 - 5 with 1 save in 20 starts / 40 appearances. He had an ERA of 3.84 in 190 innings. His WHIP was a little high a 1.41 and he's not likely to repeat this success, but he earned that money this year and should be a helpful pitcher moving forward.

I'd say that's $7.6 mil spent really well.

He's in the playoffs, he SHOULD want to!

    But maybe not.

Question: Is it time for me to blow up the Natinals and start the youth movement?
