Welcome back Richard Hardy, we hardly knew ye existed. Im still very reluctant to be happy with the great start due to past issues with blowing big leads or collapses that are epic. Or just turn into the abyss that is the TPSL M's.

Well.. I can definitely say that the HR power is helping this team.. the BA is mediocre, but the power game is getting the runs across.... trading off my RF Salazar did not help, but I did not think I would be a contender, so it did not matter much... I'm having to deal with 6 contact at RF now and neither of the younger guys are really performing up to ML standards (and there is not really any other viable option)... Bermejo is seemingly and finally having a season that he was capable of all along... too bad it is coming at a time without a great power hitter hitting behind him... But it looks like Cash is performing well for the Dodgers in a pitchers park... go figure
Leslie Eckard is having a whale of a season so far, even without a great win total.. .4-0 with a 1.48ERA is a nice surprise for him... with his limited endurance, he needs the bullpen to hold leads for him, and we all know my pen is not strong until you get to the 8th or 9th inning.. Cornett has been demoted to the pen and Llamas has been given a shot to do something in the starting rotation.. if he does not get it together, it will probably be back to a 4 man rotation....

OK.. .how the hell is this team 35-20? How the hell does this horrible pitching staff have the 10th best # of runs scored against them? Hell.. I'm looking at the scrap heap because I have 2 pitchers with ERA's approaching 8 that have been filling in the 5th SP slot... my starting SS is barely above the Mendoza line
Of note on positive performances... Scrap heap find Max Power with an ERA under 2 in a setup role in the pen... the 6 contact power wonder Mooreman on pace for like 60 HR's... Bermejo is finally having an MVP type season... 2B Haman is becoming a ratings BEAST
I was expecting a 4th or 5th place finish this season.. to continue the rebuild with a better draft pick next year... but it never fails, every time I try and rebuild I get a better than expected season performance that won't be good enough to actually get me a championship, just enough to be Cinderella and ruin my draft slot

Still got some things to tweak the starting rotation wasnt as much of an issue as the record would seem. McCarville got 2 runs of support in 2 starts (0-2), Masselli had a bad start in Oakland and lost another game 3-2 (allowed 4 h and 1 ER), Ramirez too hated his visit to Oakland, McCarthy lost 2 games 3-2 vs Anaheim.
If not for Magner, Lizardo would probably be well on his well to an MVP. I hope St. John gets a final bump in eye and contact soon so that I can call him up, Cone struggles vs LHP and would like a little more power output from the lineup.

I like that a player boosts at the ripe age of 30. Thanks Valerio!
I am tempted to replace Beier with the Walrus for a sim, and see if he has a lot of misadventures in RF. He is a rightfield.

Saturday 5/31/2028: Toronto's Jesus Alvarado unloads three times
BOSTON - Toronto's first baseman Jesus Alvarado flexed his muscles and displayed his tremendous power, homering three times in a 11-5 win over Boston. In the 1st inning he unloaded a two-run homerun off Josue Martin. His 2nd blast, a solo homerun off Francis Lund in the 6th inning, landed an estimated 445 feet from home plate. A 431 foot drive to center field marked his 3rd bomb, a three-run homerun off Francis Lund in the 8th inning. Jesus stroked 3 hits in 4 AB, scoring three times and driving in 6 runs. His homerun total this year is 14, along with 50 RBI. On 5/30/2028, Darrell Wicks was the last player to hit 3 dingers in a single game. Toronto scored 11 runs on 17 hits.

Dear Sir,

but I feel I have nothing left, so I'm retiring today!

Curse you West Coast teams al and nl. 9-15 vs you all 27-18 vs the rest of baseball. St John is so tempting to call up but I dont want to pursue too early. Used this sim to give Ruvalcaba some rest in the NL Parks but he'll probably be back out in LF full time as Wade makes Ruvalcaba look like a gold glover in LF.

That's pretty sweet he waited to get his 200th before calling it quits. Too bad he didn't retire on his 200th win and pitched those two additional games, a 6 IP performance with 0 ER would have been a great game for him to exit on.
I wonder if he'll un-retire in a season or two as his ratings are still good.
Three time world series winner, multiple all-star games, and two Cy Youngs... Martin was a legend.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.
