Rickie Weeks provided a very solid bat for me until he was 40 for affordable 1 year deals for like 4 years. Unfortunately no one wanted him to try and bolster their team as I rebuilt :*(.
Anyways 2026 Twinkie Year in Review:
This year was all about the kids in Minnesota, much like 2011-2012 was. Many under 26 got their first tastes of MLB baseball. Some with good, some not so good results.
Johnnie Masselli- Absolutely wretched this year, maybe could have used sometime at AAA but I am hoping for a Verlander type rise wise his experience .
Season stats: 3-10 record, 18 gs, 5.93 ERA, WHIP 1.55. Needs to get his walks down a bit 3.9 per 9 IP this year.
Justin Hickmon- Proved he could hit MLB pitchers but his lack of power concerns me greatly, absolutely brutal d at 3b this year.
Season stats: .291 ba, 2 hrs, .697 ops, 67 RBI.
Val Hunt- Came up about a month in due to suckitude of the starter, performed well for a rookie who had a spot of coffee last year in September. Maybe in the running for ROY if not for his teammate. Did about as well as I would expect as a leadoff hitter. Got a fielding boost further securing his spot at SS for the future.
Season stats: .290 ba, .371 obp, .427 slug, 66 r, 61 rbi.
Emilio Lizardo- First round pick this year. Came in and performed, but like many others really didnt live up to the power potential. Only 1 Error in RF this season.
Season Stats: .290 bat ave, .832 ops, 9 hr, 55 RBI, 100 games.
Amador "The Bull" Ramirez- The one guy who lived up to the billing in every aspect. Your 2026 AL ROY, maybe even Cy Young?
After playing way over their heads for half the season (+5 pythag) they returned to the norms. If the power comes on watch out for this team.
