Rebuilding doesn't take as long in this league as it does in real life. Especially if you supplement in FA. Or just trade away all your prospects for Billy Wagner and a world series ring.

I've just found it very difficult to work with a majority of GMs in this league regarding trade. It's an aspect of the game I just prefer to avoid. And like I said, if I tried to rebuild, I'd wind up tanking... so I'd rather just dabble in mediocrity and hope I catch lightening in a bottle.

Yeah, trades can be difficult. There are several GMs I know I can deal with fairly, which is 90% of the battle. Some folks just don't like to not screw you.

I think everyone has sort of drifted towards the group of people thay can and have traded with in the past... a lot of times with new people, expectations are different and outlooks are different... and with some of the old timers, there are some rivalries and some differing outlooks on value....

But that is one thing I like about this league, compared to the old defunct league where I had Milwaukee... I think there were TOO MANY trades there.... people changed players like they change underwear... we're definately not stagnant here, but we're not crazy either

Nick, I'll attempt to trade w/you anytime. Dialogue is the key. This league is just cliqueish... if that is a word... I think we can work through it though. A few more threads with polite exchange of viewpoints...

Nick, you're a terrible GM, and I'll never trade with you!

I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

I am sorry Mission. My comments are never meant to be personal. Just one viewpoint among many.

That's just my odd sense of humor, which probably adds to the clique level of the league, talking. Just let it be, let it live.

IMHO, you have nothing to do with the clique in the league. I am happy to let it be... at least until the next condescending comment about another GM's team or strategy or signing or draft selection... Then it's game on!

Let my humor be. You guys can argue from here to eternity, at least there is something for the gang to read when the sims aren't happening.

OrioleMagic, I think your team sucks, your strategy is bad, and you make horrible signings and draft picks. Suck it.

Re: GM with the hardest road ahead of him

    my simple rules of trade

rule 1: I try not to trade in my division
rule 2: Prey on new GM's (unless old GM's come back)
rule 3: Search for bargains in the trade blocks (you never know)
rule 4: Never take the 1st offer, get as much as you can get.
rule 5: Never trade with Dave (goes along with rule 1, just more strict, although one trade was made), this also may mean Mission for the NL teams
S3SL: Toronto Blue Jays' GM - rebuilding to division winner
