I made 18 MIL, and should be in damn good shape for FA spending, as a couple big contracts are gone (Bye Stumm, Marcum)....

if the FA pool is 'boosted' I will possibly try and make a splash there, as I should have mucho $$$ to spend... and will definately need help in an area or 2.... especially if I trade off some folks

I'm too lazy to PM you, HafDawg, but if you see this and still need an aswer, send me another message on AIM. I literally have no clue what the hell you asked me so I can't provide any answer.

Sorry for missing so much time everyone. As you probably know by now (since I've posted something in both of the other league forums), I had computer problems and have been unable to access the internet for the past week or so. Fortunately for me, I didn't miss anything important here. Hopefully, I'll be up to speed by the end of the offseason break. By the way, where's the new Top 10 at every position?

I'll try and do a catcher list before I go to sleep, I'm debating whether to go for the Top 10 or do an ultimate depth chart (one from each team, or more if a team (like BAL) has two starting caliber catchers)

FWIW (I'm halfway done), the rankings will be based on ratings, 2016, and career numbers, and not much else. Rarely, I will note poor defense (for catchers, I look at the numbers, and unless they are really good or really bad, I don't adjust. For instance, CHW is playing a 1B at catcher, that hurt a bit)

im gonna give nods to younger guys over older guys, as i did last time, but for the most point i use the same categories. if a guy is particularly brutal on the defensive end though, ill pull him down... grady sizemore last year, for example.

I didn't do any moving up or down based on age. I did lower some guys for having less experience (for instance Houston's Alex Alonso would be based higher if he had any notable MLB experience). I also did not take into account potential.

This is roughly what the list looks like on a first draft, I should note that there are many close battles and if you separate a similar group, they could be ranked in any order.

I used Stats (2016 and Career) and Ratings
I did not take into account potential or age
If a young player had little to no experience, he got bumped down a bit.
Defense only matters if brutal or superior
Many of these positions are REALLY close and could be argued any way. Any questions/contentions, feel free to ask

I took each team's starting catcher and two of Baltimores (since both were very nice).

    1. Justin Huber (BAL)
    2. Frank Collum (MIN)
    3. Lane Carter (WAS)
    4. Terry Fortuna (CIN)
    5. Howard McGill (NYY)
    6. Jarrod Saltalamacchia (FLA)
    7. Jason Belcher (MIL)
    8. David Parker (SF)
    9. Henry Miller (LA)
    10. Harry Potts (OAK)
    11. Alex Ocasio (BAL)
    12. Andrew Baker (CHW)
    13. Lamont Rameriz (SEA)
    14. Louis Trombly (ARI)
    15. Edwin Oliviera (PIT)
    16. Brian Levan (PHI)
    17. Joe Mauer (SD)
    18. Alex Alonso (HOU)
    19. Harvey Bynum (DET)
    20. Rene Rivera (CLE)
    21. Richard Nutter (STL)
    22. Dale Bowman (ANA)
    23. Rick Guarno (CHC)
    24. Harold Edwards (TOR)
    25. Daric Barton (TB/FA)
    26. Paul Mosely (ATL)
    27. Fernando Malave (NYM)

2 days ago i was looking over the catchers, considering doing this... and gave up when i didnt know how to grade gracey, coming back off the injury.

  15. #30
I put him 9th in the hopes he doesn't fall

Gracey and Parker have similar ratings, Parker peformed better. So he's right below Parker
