Garcia, Cards agree to extension

Jon Heyman of SI.com reports that the Cardinals and left-hander Jaime Garcia have agreed on a multi-year contract.
According to Heyman, the deal is worth $27.5 million over four years and includes two option years. We heard similar information from an employee of KTRS in St. Louis last week. An official announcement could come later in the day Wednesday. Garcia, 25, has a 2.92 ERA over 47 starts dating back to the start of the 2010 season.

I personally thought Garcia would completely fall off in his second year and there is still time it might happen but he seems like the real deal and is one hell of a lefty for the Cards. Looks like a good deal for both and now the Cards won't have to worry about one of their top pitchers for a while.
