I think it is foolish for them to rush him so quickly with his history of arm injuries. I would have liked him to get a couple more starts.Manager Tony La Russa announced before Saturday's game that Chris Carpenter will start against the Braves on Wednesday.
It will be Carpenter's first start in almost 16 months. He has been out since Opening Day 2007 after experiencing elbow discomfort and eventually undergoing Tommy John surgery. Carp has made two solid rehab appearances, but if anything goes wrong, the Cardinals will easily be ridiculed for rushing him back. He will take Mitchell Boggs' spot in the starting rotation.
