Perez should be closing... not Franklin.
btw... it sounds like Izzy might be back next week. I'm not sure if that is good news or bad news yet.

The Cards lost their best pitcher (Carpenter) before the season even started, but that didn't slow them down. Other players have stepped up to replace those that the Cardinals have lost to injury. Who would hav ever thought that Todd Wellemeyer would have a 2.93 ERA with a 7-1 record and Ryan Ludwick would be hitting .321, 16 hrs, 2 RBI's, and have an OPS of 1.007 in June?
Cards had planned on not having Carpenter and haven;t had him for a long, long time so that doesn't even play into it. Wellemeyer is having arm problems as well. Nothing you can say can change the fact that these injuries hurt, especially with the AL coming this week.
Yeah the Cards aren't missing Pujols after that great game last night Cards are in trouble.
Are you serious??? Even the great Albert Pujols can't score 18 runs in one game. How could he have helped them win when the pitching staff gives up 20 runs?
The Cards won today...without Pujols.
Pujols is just like Bonds, makes people better around them. If you can't see that by now, wow.
So they won't ever lose a game when Pujols is playing? That makes no sense. The Cardinals lose one game, and you say it's because they don't have Pujols. They win the next two games, and that doesn't seem to matter. I never said that Pujols doesn't make the Cards better, because he does. You are just acting like the sky is falling, and I don't see it that way. The Cards have a lot of players that are hurt, and they are still winning. The Cards won the series against the Reds and the series against the Phillies. This isn't a team that is struggling and falling apart. They don't look like a devastated team at all. They look like a team with something to prove.
Are the Cardinals in last place yet now that Pujols has been gone for awhile? Oh wait... they just won a series against Boston and have the second best record in the NL. How can that be?
