    Say It Ain't So

    Cardinals released outfielder So Taguchi.
    The team previously declined Taguchi's $1.1 million option, though that didn't technically make him a free agent. He will be one if he clears release waivers. By making the move now, the Cardinals have a spot open for Thursday's Rule 5 draft.
    Believe it or not Taguchi will be 38 next season plus Ludwick and Shumaker are better options off the bench. Taguchi at least got a ring with the Cardinals. Someone will pick him up.
