Oakland A's defend frolic New York Yankees' Eric Chavez calls 'high schoolish' - ESPN New York
WTF? Hey, post-season choker and thief of Oakland Athletics' money (riding the pine with injuries the last few years of his massive contract), your team won the game. The A's blew the 9 - 5 lead they had in the 13th inning. Shouldn't you be talking about how your team won? And not how the other team cheered when they teed off on Freddy "I should have retired a few years ago" Garcia? They're a young team and have 17 rookies. OMG! They cheered and clapped. How unprofessional. Not like A-Rod, Swish, and Cano arguing with the ump after each time they struck-out today. No, that's quite professional. A-Rod even was overheard saying something to the effect of "It's OK to tell me you screwed up" to the umpire. Professionalism at its finest.NEW YORK -- New York Yankees third baseman Eric Chavez criticized the Oakland Athletics for excessive celebration after they hit three home runs in the top of the 13th inning of Saturday's game, but the A's felt that they were well within their rights to do so.
Chavez told the New York Post that Oakland's "orchestrated clapping, cheering celebration" was "high schoolish" and "pretty unprofessional." I thought it was distasteful," Chavez said. "That's not cool. That's not how you play the game. I am all for having fun, but that crossed the line. It is all about being humble."
Chokvez, just worry about yourself. I guess he forgot what it was like to be on a young A's team.
